Hi, I'm Rebecca, an independent writer, content strategist and design geek.
I'm the former managing editor of Communication Arts magazine, an international publication covering graphic design, photography, and illustration in Northern California since 1959.
My passion for storytelling has taken me around the world: I worked as a freelance writer and teacher in Mexico City for a year, then got my master's in digital journalism at Columbia University. I've had reporting stints at The Miami Herald, Napa Valley Register, and Mother Jones. Most recently, I was the Arts & Culture Editor at the Sacramento News & Review, where I continue to write about (and eat) food as much as they'll let me.
I love to find surprising stories and shape a narrative until it's chiseled to perfection. I cover design, business, food, feminism, and crafting. Whenever I'm not furiously typing, I sew.
I've also collaborated on content marketing and content strategy for brands including Indiegogo, Zendesk, InVision, PUBLIC Bikes and Pillpack.
Drop me a line if you'd like to collaborate! I'm currently accepting new clients.
